Set Up Email with Thunderbird

Email Inbox & Forwarding

Thunderbird is a free email client focused on security and privacy from the Mozilla team (who are also responsible for Firefox). It’s available for both Mac and Windows computers.

Here are the steps to connect your new SiteArcade email address to Thunderbird…

Getting started

  • Navigate to: File (Menu) > New > Existing Mail Account…
You will find the "Add existing mail account" in the "New" submenu inside the "File" menu.

Set up your existing email address

  • Fill in the following information:

    • Your full name: Your pen name
    • Email address: Your SiteArcade email address
    • Password: Your SiteArcade email password
  • Click on Configure manually
The first step is to type your name, email address, and password.

Set up your incoming server

Use the following information:

  • Protocol: IMAP
  • Hostname: mail.gandi.net
  • Port: 993
  • Connection security: SSL/TSL
  • Authentication method: Autodetect
  • Username: Your SiteArcade email address
To set up your incoming server, you will need to select the right options in three dropdowns and fill in three fields with the information above.

Set up your outgoing server

Use the following information:

  • Hostname: mail.gandi.net
  • Port: 587
  • Connection security: START/TSL
  • Authentication method: Autodetect
  • Username: Your SiteArcade email address
To set up your outgoing server, you will need to select the right options in two dropdowns and fill in three fields with the information above.

Finishing up

  • Click Re-test
The message says: The following settings were found by probing the given server
  • Click Done
The message will say: Account successfully created
  • Click Finish
Your new inbox should appear in Tunderbird right away

Further customization

If you want to change your new inbox’s settings, such as renaming it or adding a personalized signature, just right click on your inbox’s name, then select Settings.

The settings option will be the last in the inbox (right-click) menu. Inside the inbox settings, you can edit things such as the inbox name, or your email signature.
